17-year-old dies in crash
A 17-year-old Ione boy was killed early Sunday morning after being ejected from his Jeep when it rolled on a Pend Oreille County road.
Dallas C. Newman was southbound on LeClerc Road about 4:20 a.m., five miles south of Ione when his 2006 Jeep Wrangler left the roadway, overcorrected and rolled, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Newman was ejected, and pronounced dead at the scene, WSP said. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

I am so sorry to hear about this I have witnessed the violence of a rollover crash, a seatbelt made the difference, the 16 year old that I saw roll his Honda suv 6 times had a seatbelt on, was alive and, only injury was a broken arm.

WAI? Jeeps are inherently unstable due to the high center of gravity. And more so when in the hands of a juvenile driver.

He really was a sweet boy. LeClerc Road has taken the lives of many Newman boys. It is such a tragedy.

I didn't know Dallas all that well but from what I did know he was a very likeable young man. God has plans for us all, we just don't know what they are. The only thing I am having a problem with is, (and not to put any blame on anyone, I can only imagine what a parent must be going through) what was he doing out at 4:20 in the morning? My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends in this hard time. I would also like to send my prayers out to the students that went to school with him, and played sports with him, I know my son was one of them.

This is truly a very sad situation. Dallas was a wonderful person. GrandmaTammy is right LeClerc Road has taken a lot of lives. As for upnorthmomma, you say you do not want to blame, so why do you? Why even bring up the time of the accident. It does not matter what the circumstances were or what time of the day it was; a mother has lost her baby! No parent should ever have to lose his/her child, no matter the circumstances. My thoughts and prayers go out to Dallas's family.

Dallas was somebody's son, grandson, brother, cousin, nephew and on and on and on and on. While this young man touched the lives of many; did this accident even need to happen? You can't stress the importance of wearing seatbelts and one will always wonder now if this would have made a difference!

Sad and tragic.
He'd mostly be alive today had he worn a seatbelt. Definitely saved my life when I rolled over several times a few years ago. Car was totaled, all windows broken out, and I walked away with nary a scratch or bruise.

“God has plans for us all, we just don't know what they are. ”
Especially if it means to get tossed from a vehicle, breaking possibly every bone, landing on your head, faceplanting into a tree, what ever, this is God's master plan to take out someone in the most horrific way. Excellent work!
It could of been prevented, if the kid had worn his seatbelt. You could be the best of the class, honor roll student, great at sports etc, but you can also lack common sense. I agree, no parent should lose a child, at the same time, the kid should of known better about safety. Also, using a God reference to stir up fake sympathy and empathy is a weak way to false emote.
