Spokane Valley Meals on Wheels – Volunteers are needed to deliver hot meals to elderly and disabled people in Spokane Valley. Volunteers will also need to check on the well-being of each person on their route. Volunteers may choose to drive a route any day, Monday through Friday, or drive as a substitute on flexible days. Meals will be picked up at 11 a.m. and delivered to approximately 15 people and delivery time is approximately 90 minutes. Spokane Valley Partners – Volunteers for an administrative assistant to the program director to maintain the volunteer database; six-month commitment, up to 10 hours per week; assist in the recruitment and hourly tracking of volunteers involved in seasonal programs, food bank and clothing bank. SpokAnimal C.A.R.E. – Volunteers who are at least 15 years old are needed to help maintain a healthy and sanitary environment for SpokAnimal’s cats. Includes assisting in cleaning litter pans, thoroughly disinfecting cages, feeding and taking time to hold, brush and play with the cats. American Cancer Society Discovery Shop – Volunteers are needed for the Discovery Shop, located at 905 W. Garland Ave., for help with a number of duties. For more information, call Judy at (509) 328-9373.

Anna Ogden Hall Long Term Recovery Shelter – Volunteers opportunities include: nursery and kitchen volunteers; various program class teachers; reception work; and help in the medical clinic. Catholic Charities – Drivers are needed to deliver “brown bags” to those in need of meals who are unable to obtain food themselves. Volunteers must pass a Washington State Patrol background check, have a valid drivers license and a vehicle to use for food deliveries and be able lift and carry bags weighing 8 to 10 pounds. Corbin Senior Activity Center – Lunch helpers are needed to set and clear tables, make coffee, dish out and serve food on Wednesdays. Volunteers are also needed to pick up food once a month.

Friend to Friend – Community volunteers are needed to visit one-on-one with residents in Spokane area long-term care and assisted-living facilities. Inland Northwest Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society – Inland Northwest Chapter is looking for administrative volunteers to assist the staff with receptionist duties, data entry filing and the development director with hands-on projects in preparation for special events.
