Prep roundup: Keiser helps CdA roll past Caldwell

Zach Keiser ran for two touchdowns and returned an interception 24 yards for another score as Coeur d’Alene High rolled to a 38-13 non-conference football win over Caldwell on Thursday at Viking Field.

Ryan Dunton hit Steve Casley with a 38-yard touchdown pass to give CdA (4-1) a 28-0 lead at half. Connor Williams had an 11-yard touchdown reception and kicked a 33-yard field goal for the Vikings in the second half.

Coeur d’Alene entertains Lewiston next Friday in a 5A Inland Empire League opener.

•Non-league: Casey McKinnon rushed for 288 yards and five touchdowns as Mullan (2-3) routed St. Regis (Mont.) 60-28 at Mullan. McKinnon tossed three touchdown passes to Josh Trogden. Tucker Sadler added 157 yards rushing.

Girls soccer

•Inland Empire League: Lake City and Coeur d’Alene battled to a scoreless tie in a 5A matchup at CdA. The Vikings (7-4-3, 4-1-1) had 13 shots, but Lake City goal keeper Brianna Loper made seven saves. The Timberwolves (5-2-5, 2-1-3) had three shots. … Ellie Engel had two goals and an assist as Sandpoint (8-4-1, 4-0) defeated visiting Lakeland 4-1 in a 4A matchup. Nichole Pagano and Melinda Van Dyk added goals for the Bulldogs. Marisa Watson scored the lone goal for the Hawks (4-7-2, 1-3).

•Great Northern League: Alexis Garcia scored in the 59th minute to break a tie and propel visiting Pullman past Deer Park 2-1. Kayla Moorman’s goal gave Deer Park (3-4, 3-3) a 1-0 lead, but Analisa Druffel tied it with a goal in the closing seconds of the first half for the Greyhounds (7-0, 5-0). … Sarah Marro, Mariah Martin and Kaylee Tate tallied goals in West Valley’s 3-0 win over visiting Medical Lake (3-3, 3-2). Deedee Garbe and Gayle Gallaher had assists for the Eagles (6-1, 5-1). … Cheney scored three goals in a 3-minute span in the second half to punctuate a 5-0 win over visiting Clarkston (0-7, 0-6). Luci Scott had two goals and an assist for the Blackhawks (7-1, 5-1). … Tasha Luu scored three goals late in the second half as Colville (2-5, 2-4) pulled away from Riverside 5-1. The Rams (0-7, 0-6) had closed within 2-1 on Amanda Suhr’s goal in the 69th minute.

•Inland Empire League: Tanner Williams had two goals and two assists in the first half as Sandpoint thumped Lakeland (2-10-2, 0-3) 8-0 in a 4A match at Sandpoint. Zac Linscott scored a pair of second-half goals for the Bulldogs (10-1-2, 2-1).

•Greater Spokane League: Visiting Mt. Spokane bounced back from a first-game loss to handle University 13-25, 25-7, 25-11, 25-18. Annie Arnzen had 16 kills and Kenzie Reid added 23 assists and 14 digs for the Wildcats (5-1). Jordan Bonertz led the Titans (4-2) with 10 kills. … Paula Jennings finished with 10 kills as Central Valley swept host North Central 25-20, 25-23, 26-24. Kelsey Solberg chipped in 11 digs and two aces for the Bears (3-2). Kelsey Grimmer’s nine kills and Tiana Lee’s 32 assists paced the Indians (1-4). … Alexis Olgard’s 11 kills and four blocks spurred Mead (4-0) past visiting East Valley 25-22, 25-10, 25-15. Rachel Duckett had 10 digs and four aces for the Knights (2-4). … Visiting Gonzaga Prep took control early in a three-game sweep of Rogers (0-5). Allison Reed’s 10 kills and Lindsay Stockton’s 27 assists fueled the offense for the Bullpups (5-0). … Host Lewis and Clark won a hotly contested first game and went on to a 28-26, 25-19, 25-11 victory over Shadle Park. •Great Northern League: Bailey Wold had 15 kills, seven aces and a block to help West Valley outlast visiting Colville 27-25, 26-24, 29-27. Brooklyn Robinson had 32 assists and Malorie Schoesler had nine digs for the Eagles (5-1), who moved past the Indians (5-2) into second place. Colville’s Ashley Knight had nine kills and Leanna Carr had 18 assists. … Pullman (6-0) held on to first place with a three-game sweep of visiting Clarkston (3-4). Jordan Levenseller paced the winners with eight kills. KC McConnell topped the Bantams with five kills. … Sayde Davis dished out 15 assists and Cheney’s balanced attack paved a 25-15, 25-18, 25-22 sweep against host Deer Park. The Blackhawks improved to 2-4. Stephanie Ruygrok had 12 digs for the Stags (1-5). … Joni Nagy’s 14 kills and seven aces sparked visiting Riverside past Medical Lake 25-13, 25-14, 22-25, 25-14. Katie McKinney and Kate Hart each had seven aces for the Rams (3-3). The Cardinals (0-6) were led by Gabrielle Daley’s and Cassie Shoben’s 18 combined kills.

•Inland Empire League: Savannah Blinn’s 18 kills and four blocks helped Lewiston (7-7, 2-3) to a three-game sweep over visiting Coeur d’Alene (2-16, 0-6). Paige Schlader had 25 assists for the Bengals, who will face Lake City on Thursday to determine second and third place in 5A.

•Intermountain League: Marlee Masterson had 17 kills, Jalee Sines distributed 31 assists and Tia Asbury came up with 13 digs to lead St. Maries (11-1, 6-0) past host Kellogg 25-18, 25-14, 25-10. The Wildcats dropped to 1-4 in league. … Priest River (6-4, 5-1) stayed within a game of first-place St. Maries with a 25-9, 25-23, 25-16 win over visiting Bonners Ferry. The Spartans’ Taylor Stewart finished with 10 kills and 13 digs. Casey Watt had seven blocks for the Badgers (1-7, 1-4).
