Group seeks Web votes in photo contest
The Spokane Preservation Advocates organization is asking for help to win a national photo contest with a preservation theme.
A picture taken of a volunteer work crew last spring was selected as a finalist in the “This Place Matters” photo contest sponsored by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Organization members in April helped the owners of a house at 527 E. Nora Ave. remove aluminum siding from the second story, plant trees and clean the yard as part of the restoration effort of the 1901 structure.
A photograph of the work party was submitted for the contest. More than 1,900 photos nationwide were narrowed to a dozen finalists, including the Spokane entry.
Online voting continues through Friday. To vote, go to www.preservationnation.org/take-action/this-place-matters.
