Library security is goal

The Spokesman-Review

The Post Falls Public Library’s future is being put to the vote next month when Post Falls residents are asked to vote on consolidating with the Kootenai Shoshone Library District.

Those of us who have become comfortably accustomed to the present library are understandably wary of any change, especially where ownership of the library appears to be at stake.

It is therefore important that it be understood that Post Falls residents will be losing nothing under the proposed change but will stand to gain a more secure future for their library.

As a member of the Post Falls Board of Trustees I was privileged to work with the district board on several occasions. I found that city and district library goals and operations have much in common.

I am confident that the best future for the Post Falls Library lies in consolidation with the Kootenai Shoshone Library. I urge a yes vote.
