Eagles roll

Unbeaten WV downs Deer Park

West Valley’s Drew Clausen passed for four touchdowns and the Eagles continued their best season in decades with a 48-21 Great Northern League win at Deer Park.

The Eagles (6-0, 3-0) are co-leaders in the GNL. They outscored the Stags (4-2, 1-2) 21-0 in the third quarter to break a 14-14 deadlock.

Clausen was 10 for 15 for 215 yards and Krys Smith had a 50-yard TD scamper.

Alex Wolf rushed for two Deer Park touchdowns and passed for the other.

Pullman 23, Medical Lake 13: At Medical Lake, Pullman rallied to win.

Jarrod Swanson stunned the Greyhounds (2-4, 2-1) with a 53-yard scoring dash in the first quarter. The Cardinals (2-4, 0-3) led 13-7 in the second quarter before Calvin Odell put Pullman up with an 11-yard run. He added another touchdown during a 24-carry, 146-yard rushing night.

Medical Lake’s Nick Pacheco passed for 216 yards, 103 of those to Devon Prince, who had four catches, but he was intercepted twice.

Clarkston 42, Riverside 12: Clarkston’s Colby Hansen gained 221 yards on 24 rushes and scored five times in the Bantams’ (3-3, 2-1) easy road victory over the Rams (3-3, 0-3).

The Rams’ Dewey Bender rushed for a scored and passed to Dustin Martin for the other.

Northeast A

Kettle Falls 10, Freeman 8: Jack Redding Jr. kicked a 28-yard field goal with 8 seconds on the clock helping the Bulldogs (2-4, 2-1) win at home against the Scotties (1-4, 1-1). Freeman took a one-point lead early in the final quarter on a TD run by Josh Richardson, but Kettle’s defense stopped the Scotties short on fourth-and-1 with 2 minutes left to set up the field goal.

Chewelah 41, Newport 7: The Cougars (2-4, 1-0) kept the Grizzlies (0-5, 0-3) off the scoreboard until the final quarter in their win at Newport. Connall Calvin scored two TDs on the ground and Sam Fisk threw for a pair to lead the scoring for Chewelah.

Northeast 2B

Colfax 62, Davenport 18: The Bulldogs (5-0, 3-0) used a balanced offense to knock off the host Gorillas (3-2, 2-1). Alex Teadd passed for three TDs and ran for another and Tyler McNannay added another four scores for the Bulldogs.

Reardan 42, Liberty 14: The visiting Indians (3-2, 2-1) scored 21 points in the first half against Lancers (1-4, 0-2), using a bruising running game to control the clock and provide steady scoring throughout.

Southeast 2B

Waitsburg-Prescott 40, Tekoa-Oakesdale/Rosalia 6: The Cardinals (5-0, 2-0) scored the first five touchdowns to beat the host Nighthawks (1-4, 0-3). Zach Bartlow threw for three TDs for the Cardinals.

Northeast 1B

Cusick 64, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 18: Behind 302 yards and five TDs through the air from Spencer Shanholtzer, the Panthers (5-0, 4-0) upended the visiting Warriors (5-1, 5-1) to finish the day as the only unbeaten team in the Northeast 1B.

Columbia 52, Sprague-Harrington 6: The Lions (5-1, 5-1) raced out to a 30-0 lead at the end of the first half and put away the Falcons (1-4, 1-4) after three quarters of play in Hunters. Paul Larew dominated for the Lions on the ground, carrying the ball just five times for 202 yards and three TDs.

Wilbur-Creston 63, Curlew 42: Jamie Logan Jannot rushed 12 times for 210 yards five TDs and the Wildcats (4-2, 4-2) put up points at will against the Cougars (0-6, 0-6) in Curlew. Curlew’s Jamie Zerck racked up 339 yards rushing, scoring four times.

Odessa 34, Wellpinit 14: Jared King went 11 of 19 passing with 324 yards and three TDs in the Tigers’ (3-3, 3-3) win over the Redskins (2-3, 2-3) in Odessa.

Southeast 1B

Colton 60, Touchet 26: The Wildcats (5-0, 3-0) defeated the Indians (2-3, 1-1) for the first time in four years, led by Sam Robertson’s 198 yards rushing, 132 yards receiving and five combined touchdowns in Touchet.

Non-league

Vallivue 29, Lake City 26: Allen Carmichael gave the Timberwolves (1-5, 1-0) a five-point lead in the fourth quarter, but Vallivue QB J.J. Hyde scored from 6 yards out for the winning TD in Caldwell, Idaho.

Sandpoint 34, Raymond 14: The visiting Bulldogs (5-2) scored 27 straight points in the second and third quarters to put away Raymond, Wash.

Garfield-Palouse 26, Wallace 22: J.B. Lange crossed the goal line on a 29-yard scamper to give the Vikings (1-2) the win over the visiting Miners (3-3, 3-2). Lang scored three times for the Vikings.

Lyle/Klickitat/Wishram 60, St. John-Endicott 24: Starting the game with just 10 players, LKW found success with brothers Allen and Henry Matai, who combined for all nine rushing scores against the host Eagles (2-4, 0-1), who suited 14 players.

Selkirk 56, Valley Christian 12: The host Rangers (5-1) scored the first 34 points before the Panthers (0-4) fought back to score a pair of rushing touchdowns in Ione, but Selkirk controlled the rest of the game.
