Police arrest alleged purse snatcher

The Spokesman-Review
Spokane police arrested a 17-year-old girl on Friday after she allegedly snatched a purse and then hopped on the hood of a car speeding from the parking lot to get away. The victim, a 45-year-old woman, had the purse taken while she was returning to her car after shopping in the 5600 block of North Division Street. Police later found the suspect and the car she’d jumped on near the 100 block of West Cora, and they tracked down the purse. The 17-year-old was charged with second-degree robbery. No charges were filed against other girls in the getaway vehicle because the driver said they had been trying to leave the purse-snatcher behind when she jumped on the hood of the car.
