Whitworth University swept both the men’s and women’s divisions at the Northwest Conference North Classic golf tournaments Monday at Oakbrook Country Club in Tacoma.

With Cameron Whittle (10-over 152) and Jared Descoteaux (153) finishing third and fourth, and four of their teammates among the top 15, the Pirates men fashioned a 610 over 36 holes for a 13-stroke victory over Puget Sound, in the tournament involving the conference’s four Washington schools. Brian Barton of Whitman was medalist with a 7-over 149.

Whittle’s closing 2-under was low score of the final day and one of only two sub-par rounds in the tournament.
