Volleyball game benefits food bank
On Oct. 6, Mt. Spokane High School held a Peanut Butter and Jelly Alumni Volleyball Game to benefit Mead Food Bank.
With the help of the community, Mt. Spokane students and staff, over 475 pounds of peanut butter and jelly were collected to help feed the hungry in the Mead area.
Cataldo Catholic School, 455 W. 18th Ave., will make it easy for students to prepare for Halloween today and Friday.
From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Cataldo will hold a Halloween costume sale.
Sizes from baby and toddler to adults will be available, and all costumes are reasonably priced, according to a school press release.

Mt. Spokane High School senior parents are inviting the community, ages 21 and older, to a night of “Grape Expectations.”
The wine tasting event will be held at St. Thomas More, 8112 N. Howard St., will include a silent and live auction and will benefit the Mead Class of 2010 Senior All-Nighter. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and the live auction will begin at 9:15 p.m.
Class baskets available in the auction include a pet basket by the freshman class; an “entertainment night” basket by the sophomore class; a caffeine and chocolate basket by the junior class; and an “off to college” basket by the senior class.
Tickets are $30 per person, $55 per couple, or $200 for a table of eight.
