In brief: Equestrian team plans dinner

CHENEY – The Cheney High School Equestrian Team Spaghetti Feed and Kiddie Carnival will be at the Cheney Rodeo Grounds Clubhouse on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Carnival activities include a cake walk, a petting zoo, pumpkin and face painting and prizes. Adults can enjoy a silent auction.

Tickets purchased in advance are $5 per person. Tickets at the gate are $7 per person. Families of four are $20.

Fill the Boot at EWU game

CHENEY – The firefighters of the Cheney Fire Department and International Association of Firefighters Local 1919 in cooperation with Safeway and Eastern Washington University will be Filling the Boot for the Muscular Dystrophy Association on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Firefighters will collect donations around Cheney and at Woodward Field before the EWU/Montana State football game.

Punt, Pass, Kick to benefit wrestlers

CHENEY – Cheney High School will hold a Punt, Pass, and Kick competition on Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. at the high school to raise funds for the wrestling team.

All ages are welcome to compete, and divisions will be separated one year apart.

The entry fee is $5 per person.

Dog ‘Halloweenie’ party planned

NEVADA/ LIDGERWOOD – The Lilac City Dog Training Club, 1612 E. Houston Ave., will hold host the first annual “Happy Halloweenie” Dog Party to benefit Dachshund Northwest on Sunday, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Spooky Halloween puppy fun includes a costume contest, prizes and a potluck.

Attendees are asked to bring their favorite dish.

Cost is $5 per person.
