Joint service, festival at Bethlehem Lutheran

Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bethany Presbyterian Church and Emmanuel Metropolitan Community Church will present a Festival of the Reformation Joint Worship Service and Oktoberfest Celebration Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 2715 S. Ray St.

The event will feature live music, the Lincoln Heights Community Choir, Oktoberfest sausages and beverages. Although the service will be held indoors, the festivities will take place outside on the lawn, so dress warm.

Donations will be accepted to benefit the Odyssey Youth Center.

More family fun

•The women of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 1926 W. Chelan Ave., will present its annual bazaar Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Items for sale include baked goods, ehite elephant gifts, cutlery, quilts, crafts and food.

•The Unity Church of Truth, 2900 S. Bernard St., will present “The Unity Home Companion,” Saturday at 7 p.m.

The show will include music, stories, skits and homemade treats.

St. John’s workshop

The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., will present Matt Rindge during a workshop to prepare for Year C in the church’s liturgical calendar Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The theme of the workshop will be “Luke’s Gospel and the American Dream: Finding Meaning in Luke and Contemporary Cinema.”

Reservations are required by Monday, and there is a $25 registration fee for the workshop.
