UI’s Keo in trouble following altercation
MOSCOW, Idaho – University of Idaho starting safety Shiloh Keo was cited for misdemeanor battery after an altercation Saturday night following the Vandals’ win over Hawaii.
Keo, the Vandals’ leading tackler, allegedly was involved in a fight on West A Street in Moscow at about 10 p.m., just hours after Idaho beat Hawaii to become bowl eligible. The junior was cited and released Tuesday, according to a report in the Moscow-Pullman Daily News.
Moscow assistant police chief David Duke told the newspaper that the fight broke out after a passerby in a parking lot exchanged words with Keo and others on a nearby deck. Keo and others allegedly approached the individual and the victim was struck in the face, Duke said.
Coach Robb Akey said in a written statement that he is “aware of the situation and am very disappointed that Shiloh made a poor choice off the field.”
Keo is expected to play Saturday in Idaho’s game at Nevada, various media outlets reported.
“I have dealt with this situation with Shiloh and he will have to pay a price,” Akey said. “I am confident that he will learn from this situation. As well as dealing with the repercussions within our program, he will also have to make things right with the court of law.”
Keo’s incident comes after UI tight end Clayton Homme was cited for driving under the influence and public urination after the Vandals beat Colorado State on Oct. 3.
