North central Spokane fire damages apartment

The Spokesman-Review
A fire in north central Spokane midday Friday caused moderate damage to one residence, forcing the occupants to seek new shelter. The 12:09 p.m. fire at a single-story apartment building at 1508 N. Post St. was contained to the unit where it began, although smoke damage spread throughout the building, said Assistant Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer. The American Red Cross is assisting two adults who lived in the apartment to find temporary shelter, according to the agency’s communications director. Firefighters on seven rigs controlled the blaze within 15 minutes. The cause was under investigation.
