Otter has surgery on shoulder

BOISE – Gov. Butch Otter plans to spend several days at home recovering from surgery to repair an injury to his left shoulder suffered recently while clearing brush on his property west of Boise.

Otter received only a light general anesthesia during the procedure to repair his rotator cuff Thursday.

Otter likely will need eight to 10 weeks of rehabilitation and physical therapy as part of his recovery.
