Just 57 percent of Americans think there is solid evidence that the world is getting warmer, according to a new poll by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press. Because of an editing error, a brief story in Friday’s paper about the decline in public belief about the existence of global warming neglected to mention the most recent statistical finding.
