Don’t fall for scare tactics

The Spokesman-Review

With the upcoming election, the scare ads from taxing districts are showing up in their historic form. This is not a denunciation or promotion for any propositions or levies, but rather a reminder for those with short memories of how large budgets have become for public services, namely personnel costs. Police and fire are decrying service cuts and teachers professing the children will suffer.

Don’t be led down this classic path by the fear mongers. Adjustments to these budgets are essential if we are to reduce the associated costs. Remember when you go to the polls what those public employee neighbors of yours are taking home and decide if you want to continue to grow government or begin the arduous process to control it.
