Cheney parks need votes

The Spokesman-Review

As a father of three young children, I visited Cheney to explore completing my college degree. I parked along Sutton Park and, at a picnic table near the big white gazebo, went over my meeting notes, enjoying the shade on a hot summer day. Now, nearly a decade later, my children are going to college and we live across the street from that park.

My family has been greatly enriched by the community of Cheney, and from the first day, the parks have been a memorable element of that for me. Now, the parks and community of Cheney deserve and need my support, and yours.

We need the new community center after the Wren Pierson building collapse. Additionally, the Cheney Outreach, Museum, Food Bank, and Clothing Bank will be ensured long-term facilities through these bond funds. It has been my experience that a day in the park can lead to great and unforeseen rewards.

This is money we are spending on ourselves. Please vote “yes” for parks, Cheney’s Proposition 1.
