In brief: SCOPE treats children to safety lights

TRENTWOOD – On Halloween, Trentwood SCOPE will hand out 1,000 blinking lights to children and their parents to help keep them safe while they trick or treat.

Safety patrols will be out from 5:30 to 8 p.m., giving the lights to children in the Trentwood neighborhood. This is the second year for the event.

WVHS craft fair, bake sale Saturday

WEST VALLEY – West Valley High School’s band will have a not-so-spooky craft fair, bake sale and raffle on Halloween from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the school, 8301 E. Buckeye Ave.

Attendees can purchase crafts from more than 50 vendors. Raffle prizes include prepaid Visa check cards worth $1,000, $750 and $250. Tickets are $2 each.

Proceeds from the events will support travel for competitions, along with other expenses, for the WVHS band.

Youth center plans craft fair Nov. 21

HILLYARD – The Northeast Youth Center will have its annual craft fair on Nov. 21 at Hillyard Baptist Church, 2121 E. Wabash Ave. Craft vendors are needed.

Black Light exhibit at Ink to Media

SPOKANE VALLEY – Ink to Media, 523 N. Pines Road, will host its second annual Halloween Black Light Art/Costume Extravaganza on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.

The pre-Halloween celebration features spooky and autumn-inspired art done in black-light and glow-in-the-dark paint.

The creepy festivities include a costume contest, live music, treats and giveaways.

The event is free.
