Crews from Spokane County Fire District 4 and the Department of Natural Resources have contained a quarter-acre grass fire burning near Elk.
The blaze, located in the 24500 block of Elk-Camden Road, near the intersection of Frideger Road, was sparked when this afternoon’s high winds knocked a tree into a power pole, said fire district spokesman Pat Humphries.
