Truck hits 2-year-old on highway
A 2-year-old Wilbur, Wash., boy walking on U.S. Highway 2 was struck by a pickup Monday night.
Jayvin K. Curo was in satisfactory condition Tuesday at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center after being struck by a 2003 Chevrolet pickup near milepost 220, about a mile west of Wilbur, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The driver, 81-year-old David L. Sparks, of Moses Lake, was not charged in the crash, which occurred about 6:50 p.m. when he swerved to avoid the boy and sideswiped him, according to the WSP.
