Three things we’ll be talking about this week

1. The Spokane Chiefs hockey team is celebrating its 25th anniversary in the Western Hockey League this season. To commemorate the occasion, the first 2,000 fans and all season-ticket holders in attendance at the home opener against the Tri-City Americans on Saturday (7 p.m. at the Arena) will take home an anniversary puck.

2. Another anniversary – the 20th Valleyfest, in Spokane Valley – kicks off Friday at 7 p.m. with the Hearts of Gold parade down Sprague Avenue. There will be booths, activities, food and entertainment Saturday and Sunday at Mirabeau Point Park. Saturday’s lineup includes a car show and fun run. Visit valleyfest.org/.

3. Everyone’s favorite surly, drug-addled doctor is back for a new season of strange diseases and snappy repartee. In the season premiere of “House,” (Fox, 8 p.m.) Dr. Greg House finds himself in a detox program to try to rid himself of hallucinations. Now that’s health reform.
