Who stands for kids?

The Spokesman-Review

On Sept. 15, a group of parents who oppose Democratic plans for reforming health care said it would lead to rationing for children with life-threatening disabilities. They did this at a press conference in front of the Capitol, where Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Trent Franks, R-Ariz., introduced them. Both lawmakers are clearly supportive of the parents’ message. Why else were they there?

Is this more “death panels” or is there reason for concern? The Autism and Easter Seals societies both say the legislative proposals will improve services for disabled kids.

So, on the one hand, we have two Republican legislators telling us that Democratic proposals, which they don’t support, will hurt kids, and on the other hand, we have two children’s health advocacy organizations telling us the opposite.

Whom are we going to believe?
