Idaho reports first swine flu-related death

Associated Press
BOISE — State health officials are confirming the first death related to the swine flu in Idaho this year. In a statement Monday, the state Department of Health and Welfare said the virus contributed to the death of a Canyon County man in his 50s. The man suffered from other health problems. The state has confirmed 488 cases of swine flu since April, with more than 25 percent of those reported within the last month. Public health officials believe the total number of cases is greater because some of the people who have been infected with the virus have not been sick enough to seek medical attention.
