The Spokesman-Review
A 23-year-old Cheney woman was killed this morning in a two-vehicle accident eight miles west of Davenport on U.S. Highway 2. Heather L. Hockett, 23, died at the scene of the collision, according to the Washington State Patrol. Troopers indicated that Hockett also listed Portland, Ore., as a place of residence. A second driver, Kimberly D. Cole, 41, of Davenport, was injured in the accident and taken to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport for treatment. She was later released, a hospital spokeswoman said. Troopers said that the accident occurred at 7:20 a.m. when Hockett was headed east in her 2006 Chevrolet Aveo and crossed over the center line colliding with Cole’s 2005 GMC Yukon, which was westbound. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
