The Spokesman-Review
A 23-year-old Cheney woman was killed Monday in a two-vehicle accident eight miles west of Davenport on U.S. Highway 2. Heather L. Hockett died at the scene of the collision, according to the Washington State Patrol. Troopers indicated that Hockett also listed Portland as a place of residence. A second driver, Kimberly D. Cole, 41, of Davenport, was injured and taken to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport for treatment. She was later released, a hospital spokeswoman said. Troopers said that the accident occurred at 7:20 a.m. when Hockett was headed east in her 2006 Chevrolet Aveo and crossed over the centerline, colliding with Cole’s 2005 GMC Yukon. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
