Findlay group buys, moves CdA Mazda dealership

More than 50 new Mazdas were added to the inventory of the I-90 Autoplex off Interstate 90 in Post Falls when the Findlay Auto Group purchased and moved the Mazda dealership from Coeur d’Alene. The new name is Findlay Hyundai-Mazda.

Findlay Hyundai originally opened in March 2007 in Post Falls. The Findlay Auto Group comprises 28 dealerships, offering 17 different manufacturers of automobiles. In business since 1959, Findlay Auto Group has grown into one of the largest auto groups in the West, with about 1,000 full-time employees.

The entire Mazda parts inventory was relocated to Findlay Hyundai-Mazda to offer complete sales, service and parts. Two Mazda-certified sales consultants were retained by Findlay Hyundai-Mazda. The old Mazda building in Coeur d’Alene was not purchased by Findlay and remains vacant.

Findlay Hyundai-Mazda is open 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, 8 to 6 Saturdays and 10 to 5 Sundays. Call (208) 619-2500 or visit www.findlayhyundaiidaho.com.

Cisco’s moves into revamped space

Cisco’s, which displays and sells thousands of Western and Native American items, has moved into new spaces at 220 N. Fourth St. in downtown Coeur d’Alene. The move is just one door north of where it has been for 14 years at 212 N. Fourth, but the space in the former Odd Fellows building is nearly twice as big, at 6,000 square feet.

Owners Sam and Denise Kennedy had the freedom of completely renovating and restoring the early 1900s structure. This included restoring original floors and dividing the spaces into rooms of different themes, including Native American, Navajo rugs and décor, saddles, canoes and decoys and a glass display with the family’s personal collection.

Originally from Iowa and Salt Lake City respectively, the Kennedys came to North Idaho in 1996 after looking for the ideal place in the U.S.

“We looked everywhere, but North Idaho kept coming back to us,” Sam said.

Hours at Cisco’s are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, adding Saturdays during tourist season. They also own Cisco’s II in the Coeur d’Alene Plaza Shoppes, open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Call (208) 769-7575.
