North Idaho teens injured in crash

Two passengers ejected

Four North Idaho teenagers were injured Sunday when their car ran off the St. Joe River Road near St. Maries, according to an Idaho State Patrol press release. A 1997 Toyota 4-Runner driven by 18-year-old Madison M. Donovan of Hayden was going west when the driver missed a curve shortly after noon. The car traveled more than 240 feet before hitting two large rocks and then tumbled another 40 feet through the air, the ISP reported. Two passengers, identified as 18-year-old Brent R. Wickham of Hayden and 17-year-old Taylor J. Neumann of Coeur d’Alene, were ejected from the car. A third passenger, 18-year-old Jesse C. Riendeau of Coeur d’Alene, was the only person in the car wearing a seat belt, the ISP said. All four teens were taken to Benewah Community Hospital. The ISP reported that alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
