Some roses, two thorns

The Spokesman-Review

Bravo, Spokane City Council, for voting to approve Councilman Jon Snyder’s Complete Streets resolution. This kind of vision and foresight is what I expect out of my elected officials.

Thanks to council members Corker, Shogan and Waldref for their insightful perspectives and to Councilman Rush for his knowledge and the immense amount of research he presented. And, of course, thanks to Councilman Snyder for bringing this opportunity to the city’s attention.

And I’m terribly disappointed in the actions and demeanor of Councilman Apple and Councilwoman McLaughlin. How dare Mr. Apple sit there and state inaccurate and made-up facts with such authority? He is misleading and misrepresenting our district and the city of Spokane. And Councilwoman McLaughlin’s antics were a disgrace and equal to that of a game a child would play when he/she doesn’t get their way. It’s quite all right to oppose something, but the way that she went about it was all wrong.
