No charge for Seattle officer who shot Lakewood cop killer

Associated Press

SEATTLE — King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg says the Seattle officer who fatally shot Maurice Clemmons will not be charged.

Satterberg says Officer Benjamin Kelly was correct in recognizing Maurice Clemmons as a danger and did his duty in using deadly force.

The announcement Tuesday follows a King County inquest jury decision last week that cleared Kelly of questions about the shooting.

He shot Clemmons in confrontation Dec. 1, two days after Clemmons killed four Lakewood police officers. Police say Clemmons was reaching for a gun that he had taken from one of the Lakewood officers when Kelly fired.

Satterberg says Kelly should be recognized for his courage.

I don’t understand way they wasted all the money to try an officer that was doing his duty.

I mean on the west side of state the cops are held up to the letter of the law, to the point of being absurd and on the east side of the State they have the run of the land, what gives?
