Hate is bipartisan flaw

The Spokesman-Review

Hate from either side of the political spectrum is unacceptable and must be condemned. However, columnist George Curry (April 6) seems to think that only the political right is taking part in this behavior. A few reminders seem to be necessary.

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have referred to citizens who’ve attended town hall or tea party meetings as unpatriotic and Nazis; is that tolerance? The Huffington Post and Moveon.org blogs continually spew the most foul statements about persons that don’t agree with their politics; where is Mr. Curry’s outrage at that?

He also contributes to the problem by stating facts not in evidence. There has been no documentation that shows anyone shouted the N-word at any black congressmen as he stated. With all the cameras at the scene of this incident, not one was able to pick up that particular word. If they had, it would have been all over the press and YouTube. Making untrue, inflammatory statements to incite can also be considered hateful.

A reminder to Mr. Curry. It is the constitutional right of all Americans to disagree with their government and protest against it. All Americans, not just those that agree with you.
