Car hits Central Valley school bus

From Staff Reports

A Central Valley School District bus was hit by a car Wednesday, sending five students to the hospital with minor injuries.

The bus was carrying 63 Broadway Elementary School students when it stopped at a red light at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Bowdish Road about 3:25 p.m.

Two cars – one northbound and the other southbound on Bowdish – collided in the intersection. One vehicle was pushed into the bus.

The five students and the bus driver were transported to the hospital as a precaution, said Melanie Rose, CVSD spokeswoman.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
