The Spokesman-Review
A 36-year-old woman was arrested for driving under the influence Thursday night after she struck a man standing along a parking lot at a North Side motel. Charchleen Hendrix was booked into jail on the charge following the 8:45 p.m. incident at Al’s Motel, 1421 N. Division St. Spokane police said that Hendrix was in a 1994 Nissan Sentra when she drove into a 40-year-old man, who was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Hendrix also hit a parked car and the motel building near the office. When she tried to drive away, she struck a pole with the car, which stopped her from leaving the scene, police said. The injured man was reportedly an acquaintance of Hendrix. Police said Hendrix did not intentionally run into the man.
