Taxpayer tapped out

The Spokesman-Review

I received my ballot in the mail today. I’ve always voted yes for local measures like EMS and schools. But this year I’m feeling broke.

What with the recession and prospects of big tax increases coming on my business, beer and income, I just can’t afford to tax myself. This year I’ll have to say no.

I feel sorry for the way things turned out. Obviously, the politicians who voted to increase my taxes didn’t think about how it might affect local issues.
