2 men who drowned in Sprague Lake identified

The Spokesman-Review
The Spokane fishermen who drowned in Sprague Lake last week have been identified as 72-year-old James Kindlespire and 53-year-old Virgil Phillips. Investigators believe Kindlespire, who used a wheelchair, and Phillips were trying to reel in a fish when their 10-foot fiberglass boat capsized. The men were reported overdue from a fishing trip to Lake Roosevelt on Thursday; their bodies were found in Sprague Lake on Friday. Flotation devices were found nearby, but neither man was wearing one, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. Another fisherman called authorities Friday after he found the capsized boat and a body floating in the lake, which is about 50 miles southwest of Spokane.
