Ninkasi featured at brewers’ dinner

Ninkasi Brewing Co. beers will be featured at Hills’ Restaurant and Lounge’s 27th brewers dinner next Wednesday. Chef David Hill prepares the meal, which features food that not only complements the beer, but it is cooked into each course. The menu includes: Spring Reign Ale and shrimp eggroll with Asian shrimp bisque; Believer Double Red Ale and elk sausage salad; Tricerahops IPA Grilled Scallop with a saffron-Tricerahops pasta; Total Domination Double IPA marinated pork chop, grilled and topped with a mushroom medley; and Oatis Oatmeal Stout with an oatmeal stout chocolate cookie and vanilla ice cream. A 6-ounce glass of beer accompanies each course. Ninkasi, named after the Sumerian goddess of fermentation, was started in Eugene, Ore., in 2006. The dinner is at 7 p.m. and costs $49 per person, including tax and gratuity. Hills’ Restaurant and Lounge is at 401 W. Main Ave. Call (509) 747-3946 for reservations.
