Water-saving devices may qualify for credit

The Spokesman-Review

Spokane residents who install automatic sprinkler systems with rain or soil moisture sensors may be eligible for up to $375 in credits on their water bills.

The sensors allow the system to adjust watering schedules, thus conserving water. The credit is available to residents of the city’s water utility service area. To prequalify for the credit, call Water Stewardship at (509) 625-6279. For more information, visit www.waterstewardship.com.

I thought the city was broke. For gawd sakes, rewarding somebody for “MAYBE” using less water? I want credit on my sewer bill because I`m going to use less toilet paper. As high as my bill is, I should receive a credit for at least as much as the water credit.
