Activist appointed to airport board
Community activist Jeff Hamilton, a private pilot and retired corporate manager, was appointed this week to a vacancy on the Spokane Airport Board.
He replaces John Wagner, who completed his second three-year term Feb. 28. Board members are limited to two terms.
Hamilton was appointed by Spokane County commissioners.
The seven-member airport board is composed of three directors chosen by Spokane County, three chosen by the city of Spokane and a joint city-county appointee.
Hamilton is treasurer of the Mobius Spokane children’s science center organization, president of the Spokane Airport Tenants Association, and served on the committee that recently completed land-use study aimed at protecting Fairchild Air Force Base.
He moved to Spokane from the San Francisco area in 2003 after retiring from the Accenture business consulting and outsourcing firm.
