Sunshine returns for today

A bright spring day is being forecasted for the Inland Northwest as the region sees a rebound from two days of clouds and rain. Highs should reach the lower to middle 60s today with light winds out of the south or southwest. A new storm system is headed toward the Washington coast and should reach the Inland Northwest overnight, bringing a 20 percent chance of showers on Saturday and the chance of moderate winds of about 23 mph. Cooler weather is expected over the weekend with highs in the upper 50s on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday should be mostly cloudy while Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny. Improving weather is seen for Monday with sun and highs near 66 in downtown Spokane. At 7 a.m., it was 39 at Spokane International Airport, downtown Spokane and Deer Park; 37 in Coeur d’Alene; and 38 in Pullman.
