‘Moderate’ label misused

The Spokesman-Review

Mr. Camden’s recent column (Spin Control, April 18) described Sen. Chris Marr and Rep. John Driscoll as “business moderate” Democratic Party members. Yes, they voted no on the recently adopted state budget but only under the political coverage of a Democratic supermajority. How could they honestly vote against funding programs they helped create and support?

Suspending voter-approved I-960, raiding reserve accounts, depending on federal monies and raising consumer taxes (cigarettes, bottled water, big brewery beer and pop) on working stiffs like me shows the Democrats’ “imaginative” approach to solving our state’s SPENDING problem.

As a union member who is forced to pay dues that help fund this Democratic budget nightmare and Marr’s and Driscoll’s voting hypocrisy, I will gladly support and vote for two 6th District Republicans, state Senate candidate Michael Baumgartner and former Rep. John Ahern, this fall.

Fellow union members, when you are having your morning cigarette or evening brew, remember why their cost keeps going up. Vote Republican.
