LONGMIRE, Wash. — Mount Rainier National Park rangers have rescued two climbers who called for help after falling near Camp Muir, which is at about the 10,000-foot level of the 14,410-foot mountain.
Ranger Patti Wold says rescuers helped a man and a woman walk to Camp Muir. The two are in their 20s and from Quebec.
The woman called 911 late Monday afternoon and said they had fallen about 150 feet and that the man was unconscious. Searchers were unable to reach them Monday night.
After the woman called again Tuesday morning, three rangers located them and found the man able to walk.
Wold says both showed signs of hypothermia. They were flown to a nearby hospital, and are expected to be fine.
