It’s the art of the real deal

Melania Trump, The Donald’s wife, is launching a line of affordable jewelry on QVC.

Each item in the Melania Timepieces & Jewelry collection, which debuts Friday on the cable channel, costs less than $200.

The 40-year-old model could have created a fine jewelry line but said that she wanted something more accessible.

Now that her 4-year-old son, Barron, is in school, she has more time to work on sketches and designs.

The line is broken up into three categories inspired by places Trump calls home: New York (businesswoman), Palm Beach (sporty) and Paris (glamorous).

She said she didn’t consult her real estate mogul husband much about her venture.

“I’m not a big talker; I prefer to do it and then when it’s done to come out and show,” she says.

Kaling comes clean

Mindy Kaling of “The Office” is writing a collection of comic essays, “The Contents of My Purse,” for release in fall 2011.

Crown Publishers says Kaling, 30, will write about clothes, romance and “the day she was horrified to learn her boyfriend could fit into her jeans.”

Sharon sheds surplus

Sharon Osbourne says she’s having her breast implants removed this summer and will give them to husband Ozzy Osbourne as a paperweight.

The 57-year-old “Celebrity Apprentice” competitor says they’ll be better off on Ozzy’s desk “than on my chest ’cause they’re awful.”
