Production amount wrong
Hecla Mining Co. produced 882,079 ounces of silver in the first quarter. A report in Thursday’s edition misstated that number, due to a reporting error.
Spill estimate misstated
Federal experts estimated Wednesday night that 5,000 barrels of oil per day were spilling into the Gulf of Mexico at the site of a drilling rig explosion. Due to an editing error, the estimate was misstated in a headline on Thursday.
