Cordero the official Democrat

I wanted to clarify some voter perceptions on candidates for office. Under the top-two primary system anyone can file to run for office and state “Prefers Democratic Party.” In order to have a role in selecting our own candidates for office, the Democratic Party holds nominating conventions to designate the official Democratic Party candidate for each office.

All filed candidates are still placed on the primary ballot in the same manner, but only one is the nominated and confirmed Democratic candidate for each office. Four candidates are running for Congress in the 5th Congressional District as “prefers Democratic Party.” At the Democratic Party state convention in Vancouver, Clyde Cordero was nominated as our official Democratic candidate for Congress in the 5th Congressional District and confirmed as such by an overwhelming vote of the convention delegation.

He has also been endorsed by many Democratic organizations. Please give Clyde Cordero your support in the primary election.
