Power for 4,400 in Rathdrum, Post Falls restored
Almost 4,400 Avista customers in the Rathdrum and Post Falls area had their power restored around 10 p.m., after a short outage.
The cause of the outage was a fire on the pole that holds the transmission line at a substation, said Hugh Imhof, a spokesman for Avista.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this point, but it may be a number of factors such as dust, a squirrel or bird, Imhof said.
