Planning panel position still open

Spokane County commissioners have extended the time to apply for a position on the county Planning Commission.

The new deadline is 4 p.m. Aug. 31.

Applicants must live in commissioner District 1, which includes unincorporated areas in the northern part of the county and portions of the cities of Spokane and Spokane Valley.

Planning Commissioner Peter Ice’s four-year term expired in July. He is eligible for one more term, but the unpaid position is open to all comers.

Applications are available at the county commissioners’ office in the county courthouse at 1116 W. Broadway Ave. or by clicking on the “Boards and Commissions” link on the county website, www.spokanecounty.org.
