Meeting planned about wetlands restoration
Priority areas for wetlands restoration in Pend Oreille County will be detailed in an open house Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Kalispel Tribe’s Wellness Center in Usk, Wash.
A study coordinated by the tribe and Ducks Unlimited, Inc., has identified 37 potential project sites – many of them on private lands – in a 29,000-acre area of the Calispell-Cusick Valley.
Financial assistance information will be offered to landowners interested in completing habitat projects on their land, said Chris Bonsignore, Ducks Unlimited’s regional biologist in Spokane.
