Spokane Valley man arrested after mooning deputy

Associated Press

If you’re going to moon someone, it may be best not to do it to an off-duty cop.

Ryan Lee Martineau, 43, of Spokane Valley, found that out Saturday evening.

He was booked into Spokane County Jail for indecent exposure and disorderly conduct.

Martineau had been making a spectacle of himself while walking from Plantes Ferry Park down McDonald Road to Rich Avenue. Along the way, he reportedly was swearing at families, pounding on passing vehicles, spitting and mooning at least one motorist.

That motorist was a Benton County sheriff’s deputy who got involved in Martineau’s arrest about 7:45 p.m. The deputy said that Martineau had his pants down around his ankles, according to a news release.

Alcohol may have been involved in the unruly behavior, Spokane deputies said.
