Kootenai County sex offender captured
A registered sex offender who did not return to Kootenai County police after a furlough was captured in Seattle tonight before 9 p.m.
Ferrell David Arnold, 33, will be transported back to Kootenai County as soon as possible, according to Kootani County Sheriff’s Office.
Arnold was released at 7 p.m. on Wednesday for a court-ordered 24-hour furlough, and did not return by 7 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.
Arnold is awaiting a sentencing for forgery and grand theft charges in October.

I cannot believe what an inept sheriff’s office to let a registered sex offender convicted of another crime awaiting sentencing to be allowed a one-day furlough. What the heck is this jail — a guest ranch. He was already a convict. How absolutely stupid!

Nothing Idaho does surprises me anymore. That state should become its own crazy messed up right wing nut job country.

Apology to the Sheriff’s office; now that the article has been updated it shows the COURT ordered the 24 hour furlough — WHY? Some judge has some answering to do!

I notice the Sex Offender/Forger /Thief made off for Seattle. I suppose he felt more at home there than in Idaho.

What a world we live in when we judge with out knowing. I know this so called sex offender and although the headlines grab our attention, the truth is he has spent years trying to clear his name .. Born with fetal alcohol syndrome and ADD had a life of being not wanted or excepted by his mom who lost one twin went off the deepest end to a world of black depression and alcohol.before he was born. He never caught up mentally with the other kids his age, always tried to fit in by coming up with a story to be “as good as” and excepted by everyone, the repercussions of never feeling loved or wanted by mom and being mentally challenged were devastating and although his over worked and tired dad, by the time he wasn’t even a year, now raising his 3 boys alone, re-married . Dad tried to get him the help he needed , the system would only try to drug his son and a new wife didn’t have much time or patients with a child who was not doing things his age and was a handful at best, when her daughter was born the new mom found herself overwhelmed with responsibility and turned to alcohol herself, lying to the dad and teaching him to steal and pawn things to support her habit, later when this boy was barely 18 with the mental capacity of a 12 year old., his then sister of 17 and her friend double dogged dared him to show his “stuff” the sisters girlfriend flashing him her top, in return he flashed him self and before he knew it was in jail confused and a now registered sex offender, it was a sibling prank and never intended for it to be so blown out of proportion. it was suppose to come off his record at 21 but it did not, now 33 he has been in and out of the system even though it is proven he is mentally incapable of living on his own or making sound decisions, the system not listening not caring just drugging him and telling him how bad he is. He has no business in society, not because he is a sex offender, HE IS NOT, but he does take things from people, our system treated him and made him who he is today. he is and always will be unable to live a normal life but to announce him as a sexual offender gets a great public response for the papers but it is simple not true, he does not know how to live in society, society made sure of that spending most of his adult life behind bars 3 years in solitaire confinement no light, no human contact by himself as they didn’t know how to deal with his outbursts caused by the drugs and abuse from our system. I know he loves God with all his heart and will counsel a teenager and tell them how much God loves them and how NOT to get into trouble Our society ruined this man, who is and always will be a boy, he does not know truth from lies He really has a lot to give our world but in a safe place for him and not in gullible society he is the best story teller and can con the socks off any man but as far as dangerous sex offender goes he is harmless, he has the softest most loving and tender heart toward people of any one I know, innocent like a child yet believes the stories he tells Prison is not the place for him but we don’t have any place to put the damaged people we couldn’t fix. We as a community need to take responsibility for the damage we caused such a young child who slipped through the cracks when he needed us most. Again another victim of society is being brandied without facts and living in a life of hell because we have decided as a 18 year old going on 12 who was dared into a innocent childish game and got made an example of. The sheriff didn’t let a convicted sex offender out on furlough, they let a man out becasue they knew he wasn’t a danger, we stripped him of his dignity made sure we branded him so he couldn’t work and shamed him so bad he lies about who he is and what he has done so we can accept him and show him the love and respect we took from him. There has to be a place for him and jail is not it!, Our community needs to step up and take some responsibility!
