Collision puts five in hospital

A collision before 11 p.m. last night at Nevada Street and Sharpsburg Avenue sent five people to the hospital. Witnesses told Spokane Police they saw a northbound Honda Civic with three people traveling at a “high rate of speed” on Nevada Street. A Lincoln Navigator with at least two people turned from Sharpsburg onto Nevada, colliding with the Civic. Three people from the Honda sustained serious injuries, and two from the Navigator sustained minor injuries. Spokane Fire Department treated injuries at the scene, and then they were taken to two area hospitals. The cause of the collision is unknown at this time, according to police.
