Desautel Hege Communications has hired Emily Easley as an account coordinator. She previously interned at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in English from Washington State University. The company has also hired Tyler Tullis as an account assistant. He previously served as a Spokane MarCom intern with the YMCA of the Inland Northwest and holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations with a minor in advertising from Gonzaga University.

Lori Castro has been hired by Red Lion Hotels as director of sales and marketing for Spokane properties. She previously worked for Hilton Vancouver Washington as a sales manager and has extensive hospitality industry experience.

US Bank Home Mortgage has hired Mike Pankey as a wholesale/correspondent account executive for Washington, Idaho and Montana. He previously worked for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.

Jael Hagerott has been hired as director of coaching-recreation for the Inland Empire Youth Soccer Association. The organization has also hired Connie Stark as program director.

Inland Imaging has hired Dr. Justin Frederick to join its professional subspecialist radiology team. Dr. Frederick is board certified neuroradiologist and previously worked as an adjunct faculty member in gross anatomy at Utah State College. He holds a bachelor’s degree in zoology from Brigham Young University and a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Virginia.

The Spokane Masonic Center has hired Maggie Crabtree as development director. She previously worked for Shriners Hospitals for Children in Spokane as public relations and volunteer director. She holds a public relations practitioner designation from the Public Relations Society of America and is a graduate of Eastern Washington University.

Becky Nations has been hired as a staff accountant for Dingus, Zarecor and Associates PLLC. She previously worked as a research assistant for Eastern Washington University and holds bachelor’s degrees in accounting, finance and economics.

Promotions

AmericanWest Bank has promoted Chris Jentges from manager of the Spokane Valley Financial Center to assistant vice president and manager of central operations. The company has also promoted Tim Engh from a service and solutions manager to manager of the Spokane Valley Financial Center.

The National Sustainable Building Advisor Program has presented Lindsay Erb, of CTA Architect Engineers in Boise, with a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor designation.

Attorney Tom Bassett has been named in the 2011 publication of The Best Lawyers in America in the practice of bankruptcy and creditor-debtor rights law. He has been listed in the publication for more than 20 years. Best Lawyers has also named Philip Carstens in the practice of tax law. He has been listed in the publication for more than 10 years. Lindsay Hitzeman has become a licensed professional engineer in Washington. She works as a structural engineer for CTA Architects Engineers in Boise.

Rebecca Menzel has been selected as a fellow in the Institute of Museum and Library Services Western Regional Fellowship, “Transforming Life after 50.” Menzel is a reference librarian for Spokane Public Library.

BHW1 received a Silver Telly Award and two Bronze Telly Awards at the 31st Annual Telly Awards competition for television commercials created for River Park Square and Whitworth University.

Gifts

Papa John’s donated $9,823 to Youth for Christ. The money was raised by the company’s Spokane locations during its “Name Your Price” Fundraiser Aug. 4.
